I’ve been reading more lately about Pohl Force knives, a new-ish German based knife company. Deitmar Pohl is the designer and apparently the man behind the scenes at Pohl Force.
The H3 Alpha knives are available in the original Alpha One and slightly updated Alpha Two. Both are lock-back designs with 440C steel blades, stainless liners and sculpted FRN handles. These are big folders with a blade length of 4 1/2″ and a closed length of 5 3/4″! Tactical Knives magazine did a nice feature on the H3 Alpha One in it’s January 2010 issue.
They are also introducing a scaled down version of their Alpha folder called the Bravo. It has a 3 1/4″ blade of D2 and a closed length of 4 1/3″ making it more suitable for pocket carry. Look for the Bravo in the Fall of 2010.
The Alpha series is made in Taiwan and presumably the Bravo is as well. Retail on the Alpha is around $200 USD with the Bravo is available for pre-order at $175 USD.
